Alexander-Arnold and Van Dijk have been sharing a dressing room for the past six years and have won several accolades including the Premier League and the Champions League titles. The English full-back recently spoke highly of his partner in defence while stating that the Dutchman is one of the best players he has ever played with.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the 26-year-old said, "Virgil van Dijk's leadership, he is an incredible leader and he is incredibly consistent and an amazing captain to the team. I think for me, he will go down as one of two or three best players I've ever played with, been able to share the pitch with. Every time I step on the pitch with him, it's an honour. And It's an honour that I'll be able to tell my kids and grandkids that I was able to share the pitch with Virgil. Because for me, he is the only one who doesn't really have a weakness in his game and that's incredible."
